Diamond Materials is currently working with FCL Builders on the redevelopment of the former Verizon data center located at 600 Horizon Drive in Hamilton, New Jersey. The 15.68-acre site is being transformed to accommodate the construction of a new 170,000 square-foot warehouse, replacing the existing 90,000+ square-foot facility.
The scope of work includes 2 acres of clearing, over 6,000 cubic yards of cut-to-fill operations, and the import of more than 13,000 cubic yards of soil. Diamond is also installing 3,000+ linear feet of storm drainage, 84 linear feet of sanitary sewer, and 4,400 linear feet of curb. Additional site improvements include the placement of 4,161 tons of asphalt and 180 cubic yards of concrete.
One of the main challenges on this site is the presence of moisture-sensitive soils, which could pose issues during periods of heavy rainfall. To mitigate this, Diamond is strategically leaving the existing asphalt in place for as long as possible to provide a stable working surface. While the original timeline was nine months, Diamond anticipates completing the project in approximately 7β8 months, pending favorable weather and site conditions.
