Diamond Materials is undertaking the 2144 East State Street Redevelopment project in Hamilton, New Jersey, valued at $2,720,000. The purpose of this project is to perform all site work necessary for the construction of a new Rivian Service Center for Vericon Construction Company. The original project duration is six months, with Diamond Materials expediting the schedule to achieve anticipated completion within five months, shortening the overall timeframe by one month.
The scope covers the full development of an 8.43-acre site, including clearing approximately one acre and grading 25,000 cubic yards of cut-to-fill material. An additional 25,000 cubic yards of imported fill was utilized to raise the entire site by three feet, meeting elevation and drainage requirements. Utility installation consists of 2,700 linear feet of storm drainage, 2,500 linear feet of underdrain, and 260 linear feet of sanitary sewer. Paving and concrete operations include placing 4,700 tons of asphalt, 500 cubic yards of concrete, 7,600 square feet of sidewalk, and 8,750 linear feet of curb. The project also features six bioretention basins as part of the stormwater management system.
A key challenge involved sourcing and importing the large volume of fill required to elevate the site within a limited timeframe. Diamond’s coordination and resource management allowed the site to be raised efficiently, saving the general contractor one month on the overall project schedule. The project continues to progress smoothly, with all essential phases advancing toward timely completion.
